I can't believe, more than ten years later, how funny this is. I actually love this. Where has my ability to perceive Flash claymation quality been all my life? Knox is a genius. This is a masterpiece of weird dialogue and sight gag humour. I'm blown away.

I think I was wrong to have low expectations for Clock Day this year. This was the first Clock Day 2022 movie I clicked on (unless you count the one I contributed to) and it was honestly a delight. I was caught very off-guard by the monologues about wasps.

Congrats, Adobe{.} You've broken Deimos. I was trying to preserve this thing on my harddrive, but now it won't even play on The Internet.

I don't review Newgrounds content often, anymore, but since I came here I figure that I better do this one.

So, Deimos is a good Halloween interactive cartoon, from what I remember. It asks you to make decisions about what a numbed human being does with their mind and body with the powers of a demon thing. Most decisions you make cause the same ending, but I tried all of them back when I was younger and still had access to the content of this page, and ultimately got to see the most scary ending. It is somewhat harrowing to continue going down the dark path that leads to this ending and if I'm thinking right, it's proper-spooky in its own way.

AGKT. Medals. That better not be Mochigames! Hate.

Seriously hate those guys.

Moving on. I enjoy the music, even though it does have very obvious indie lyrics.

It just occured to me that the end of the level may be the end of the song.
I heard animals in the lyrics and died.

The silver medal killed me!

Cool.

I did so well in the first one! Then the cubic inferno killed me.

I like to pretend I'm a flatlander (from Edwin Abbot's Flatland) when I play this.

Thoughts.

My first thought upon seeing this was "That looks like Toss The Turtle" and the first thing I said was "CREEEEPER!"

Your portrayal of the Creeper is crude, but still funny.

THE gameplay itself was not entirely fun, and the wall jumping sucks with the mouse, but is great for arrow keys. To me, if it's not as strong as wall jumping in N (ninja game), it is not entirely acceptable.

Another thing about this is the achievements. I enjoy them, but am seriously wondering what is up with the 'points' you get from them. They don't contribute to anything in any way!

You are such a player! I was in suspense that whole time waiting for something terrifying to happen. And you... you did the best thing of all by not doing it. That was a new-age legendary jump-scare in my book. Guys don't scroll down until you've heard the whole track.

Tangerine responds:

Thank you xD

Yeah I'm kinda jamming to this right now. It's a good sign with me when - and this is because I find it very difficult to continuously remember what I've just heard when I'm listening to a new melody - I immediately like what I'm hearing on a track like this. I'd love to use something like this in a video game. I can't really describe *what* I like, I just really like it. And there's that one motif that uh... you get it.

Tangerine responds:

Yeah sure, you can use it for whatever you want. If you want, I'd be happy to rearrange it for you. The rest of the song is pretty much filler for that one melody.

My respect for you and what you do is through the roof. Fucking ouch.

I really appreciate this piece of artwork, and I'll tell you why. It looks like a game that was designed to make its graphics pop as though any screenshot you take could be a painting, and in the process of getting to this point, it *doesn't* go overboard. An example of a non-indie game that achieved this is Rayman Legends.

What do I mean by "overboard"? It's that in so many 2D indie games that intend to be beautiful and bright, somebody decides that the palette should be saturated with primarily ultra-bright colours and that lighting/glow effects should be everywhere. This is why I hope to see a new game that looks like the Magic Forest mockup some day. Everything in Magic Forest is balanced, and the attempt to go high-spec succeeds. It ultimately creates a beautiful-looking picture with visual clarity. Overall it's a very appealing image with good colour theory and good lighting.

Phoenix849 responds:

Wow, this is a lot of praise, thanks a lot! Rayman Legends has one of my favourite 2D game graphics to date, and is a big inspiration. I'm definitely planning to push my skills further in the future.

Congrats, you have managed to make "fish monster" as a concept genuinely quite frightening and intimidating, all without compromising how recognizable it is as a fish monster. It's like The Creature From the Black Lagoon if it was... well, scarier.

That is a fine Mario sir, and most reassuringly non-pornographic in these Art-Portal-Pornographical times...

A big ol' neurologically rare fellow who starts and finishes more creative projects in more mediums than he probably should. Flash creation was never my strong suit as a skill, but I was able to become a competent game developer and highly-varied artist.
